Prices quoted are all inclusive of all technical gear (helmets, ropes, harness etc).
To ensure that our clients have the maximum value for money and flexibility on price we offer prices which do not include any accommodation, food or the hire of ice axe crampons, winter boots or any personal winter clothing.
In order to make our courses as cost effective as possible but maintain safety standards we provide all technical gear as standard. We make an effort not to charge for gear you may already have and there is no charge for harnesses or helmets.
The dates / days quoted are all full activity / course days – we do not include arrival / departure or travelling days within the number of full “instruction days” – you get what you pay for!
No matter what the level of winter skills course you book on you will get cold and wet! Good personal winter clothing (wind and waterproof outer layer, suitable base and mid layers) is essential – but please ask our advice before spending hundreds of pounds on useless “street cred” gear. Beg, borrow or ……. If you do not have the right personal gear to start off with – or hire from us on arrival.
You should have a reasonable level of general fitness to go onto the Scottish hills in winter. Preferably you should be reasonably “hill fit” and able to undertake at least a full “good day out” of 6 – 8 hours on the hills in fairly inclement conditions in summer. Gym or climbing wall fitness does not count!
